Excerpt from Preserved Steam Locomotives: “80104 was transferred to their new facility at Embsay but progress was slow, so it was decided to bring it back to the South to an alternative contractor in Portland, Dorset. This was close enough for local staff to assist with the work and 80104 was brought back in to traffic during 2006.

Interesting Fact: On 25 January 1961, pannier tank No 6422 was hijacked from Wolverhampton Stafford Road shed. The culprit was a former fireman who was being sought by police for possible involvement in a robbery. It was the dead of night and 6422 was in steam in the yard. more info here…
